The Organisation Intersex International would like to invite you to join us in commemorating November 8 as Intersex Solidarity Day. All human rights organizations, feminist allies, academics and gender specialists, as well as other groups and individuals interested in intersex human rights, are invited to show their solidarity by organizing workshops, lectures, discussions and other activities which deal with any or all of the following topics:
a) the life of Herculine Barbin
b) intersex genital mutilation
c) the violence of the binary sex and gender system
d) the sexism implicit within the binary construct of sex and gender
Please show your solidarity with the intersex community. Intersex rights are humans rights.

British psychiatrist Russell Reid races charges by five individuals who allege he failed to follow minimum international standards of care for sex change operations.

In his 23 years on death row, the transsexual who admired Adolph Hitler has filed appeals, tried to change the name on the case to Frances Anne Spisak, and tried to get the state to pay for his sex change operation, unsuccessful in all his efforts...until now.

The scene which took place at the Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital on the next day of Diwali would have stretched the imagination of most enthusiastic Bollywood fan. A Kinnar (eunuch) arrived at the hospital with a slashed wrist (apparently she tried to commit suicide) and later much to the shock and amusement of the hospital staff, turned out to be a normal male.
