La loi sur l'identité sexuelle a été votée hier soir, jeudi 1er mars, par le parlement espagnol, par 176 voix contre 124.

Dopo le leggi che consentono matrimoni fra omosessuali, o la possibilità di adozione per questo tipo di coppie, oltre a norme che velocizzano i divorzi, il governo spagnolo di Luis Zapatero ha approvato ieri una nuova disposizione pensata specialmente per i transessuali: ovvero la possibilità di veder trascritto il cambio di nome e di sesso all'anagrafe dietro presentazione di un certificato dello psicologo.

National LGBT Rights Organizations Condemn Arrest of Nationally Recognized State Leader
The two largest national lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender rights organizations — the Human Rights Campaign and the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force — today condemned the Feb. 27 arrest and detention of Nadine Smith, executive director of Equality Florida. Smith was arrested during a heated hearing before the Largo City Commission in Florida, during which the commission voted 5-2 to begin the process of firing its 14-year city manager, Steve Stanton, because he announced his plans to transition from male to female.
