Transsexual Causation, the American Psychiatric Association, and Interpol
Excerpt: Dr. Ray Blanchard resigned from the Harry Benjamin International Gender Dysphoria Association (HBIGDA) in protest to the ethics investigation of his protégé, J. Michael Bailey. Blanchard, a psychiatrist, member of a eugenics think tank, and vocal proponent of repathologizing homosexuality as a mental illness, still runs Toronto's Clarke Institute as a maximum security processing facility, using the same procedures, locked rooms and shared space areas for pedophiles, rapists, homosexuals, and transsexuals.

At least a dozen students at a suburban New York City high school are cross-dressing to support a sophomore boy who wants to become a girl.
Boys wore skirts and wigs and girls wore caps and cargo pants to Brewster High School in Putnam County.

Several students have organized an "Equality Protest" this week, by showing up to school dressed in garments of the opposite sex. Michael Loscalzo of Brewster has begun wearing feminine attire and makeup to express his desire to become a woman. The transition has not been easy at school, as many kids have made fun of him and called him a "freak," he said. (Frank Becerra Jr./The Journal News)

Transgendered at Age 9: How One School is Teaching Kids Tolerance at a Young Age
One of our readers contacted me Monday and told me about a developing story coming out of the Philadelphia suburb of Haverford Township, Penn.
It seems the parents of a 9-year-old third-grade student approached school administrators on April 16 to ask for help in making a "social transition" for their transgendered child.

Would somebody please think of the children?
One of the silliest arguments that the Religious Right uses to keep us down is the "Children just can't deal with homosexuality/transsexuality/gay culture/drag queens/queer PDA at their age - their minds just aren't ready for it."
It's silly because it's simply untrue - kids just see it, and, like most things adults do, ignore it and integrate it into their idea of "normal." That's what the righters are really worried about - that kids will stop thinking of this whole thing as such a big deal.
