The Treatment of Adolescent Transsexuals: Changing Insights
Introduction. Treatment of individuals with gender identity disorder (GID) has in medicine nearly always met with a great deal of skepticism. Professionals largely follow the Standards of Care of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health. For adolescents, specific guidelines have also been issued by the British Royal College of Psychiatrists.

Straits Times special feature: Trans Singapore
A new study suggests that there are at least 1,500 transsexuals in Singapore, higher than previously thought. They come from all kinds of socio-economic backgrounds, and many - debunking stereotypes of lowly educated sex workers - are high-earning professionals in both the corporate and public sectors. The majority prefer to lead invisible lives because transphobia is still very prevalent in Singapore.

Transsexuals need our compassionate understand, not armchair moralising
Excerpt: The key character is a young transsexual woman who left her hometown to work as a prostitute in Kuala Lumpur because she could not earn a living back home, and her parents did not accept her status. The problem of clients not using a condom cropped up during the interview. She said by going without the condom, she could earn as much as RM 75 per session. What she yearns for is official recognition. The Islamic clerics issued a fatwa against Muslim transsexuals in 1982, forbidding them to go for a sex change. Since then, they have been trapped in a no man's land.

Gender Expression As A Discrimination Issue
When can you discriminate against a transgender person? If one perceives an individual to be a crossdresser or a transsexual, but is "post-surgical" [has had genital reconstruction surgery (GRS)], is it discriminating against one because one perceives the individual as transgender, or discriminating against an individual because of perceived gender?
The difference between transgender discrimination and gender discrimination is no small thing. Both kinds of discrimination can be all about gender expression instead of sex or gender identity, but in some places it's legal to discriminate against someone who's perceived to be transgender while it's unlawful to discriminate against someone because of their sex or gender.

Lynn Conway’s open letter to the APA regarding Task Force data dispute
As reported previously, the American Psychological Association released a report on trans issues containing considerable clinical bias. One of the primary issues is their perpetuation of inaccuracies in prevalence data. Professor Lynn Conway has now made a direct complaint to APA leadership about how this Task Force ignored and dismissed comments that pointed out these errors in their draft.
