A Campanha Internacional Stop Trans Pathologization (Stop Patologização Trans – STP 2012)…
é uma campanha mundial pela despatologização das identidades trans. Os objectivos principais da campanha são a retirada da categoria “disforia de género” / “transtorno de identidade de género” dos catálogos de diagnóstico (DSM, da Associação Psiquiátrica Americana, e CID, da Organização Mundial de Saúde), nas suas próximas edições, previstas para 2013 e 2015, bem como a luta pelos direitos de saúde das pessoas trans. Para facilitar a garantia de um atendimento público de saúde específico às pessoas trans, a STP 2012 propõe a inclusão de uma menção não patologizante na CID-11.
Desde 2007, a Campanha STP 2012 convoca, sempre no mês de Outubro, um Dia Internacional de Acção pela Despatologização Trans, com manifestações simultâneas em diversas cidades do mundo. Em Outubro de 2011, grupos de activistas de 61 cidades na América Latina, América do Norte, Ásia, Europa e Oceania organizaram manifestações e outras acções no marco da convocatória da STP 2012. Actualmente, a Campanha conta com a adesão de mais de 300 grupos e redes de activistas em diferentes partes do mundo.
Também em Lisboa será assinalada com uma acção pública a data de 20 de Outubro, Dia Internacional Pela Despatologização das Identidades Trans: pelas 17h, no Campo Mártires da Pátria (junto à estátua do Dr. Sousa Martins).
No campo da Saúde, exigimos:
- A retirada da “transexualidade” do manual internacional de doenças mentais (DSM–V) e do capítulo de doenças mentais da Classificação Internacional de Doenças (CID-11). O acompanhamento psicoterapêutico deve ser uma opção voluntária. Defendemos o acesso à assistência médica e tratamento hormonal e cirúrgico pelos serviços públicos de saúde às pessoas trans que o procurem;
- Fim do parecer obrigatório da Ordem dos Médicos sobre os processos de transexualidade, devendo este organismo, ao invés, passar a garantir que as avaliações dos processos de transexualidade pelas equipas clínicas seguem as recomendações internacionais (Standards of Care da WPATH - World Professional Association for Transgender Health) referentes às pessoas trans;
- Descentralizar o atendimento cirúrgico, limitado a Coimbra com a extinção da realização de cirurgias em Lisboa, com perda de qualidade, bem como o atendimento psiquiátrico e psicológico;
- Descongestionar as longas e prejudiciais listas de espera e diminuir o exagerado tempo dos processos evitando a multiplicação de inúmeras avaliações psicológicas;
- Fim das cirurgias à nascença e tratamentos normalizadores a bebés intersexo.
- Fim da esterilização obrigatória de trans masculinos.
- Fim dos actuais ataques ao Serviço Nacional de Saúde, na área da prevenção de Infecções Sexualmente Transmissíveis, no racionamento ou corte de tratamentos e medicamentos no âmbito do memorando da Troika e das medidas de austeridade acrescidas.
No campo dos direitos sociais, exigimos:
- Uma verdadeira Lei da Identidade de Género, que não patologize as identidades trans e permita lutar mais eficazmente contra todo o tipo de discriminações de que são alvo no emprego, na habitação, no acesso à saúde;
- Direito à mudança de nome e sexo nos documentos de identificação sem tratamento obrigatório ou diagnóstico, ou qualquer avaliação médica ou judicial, bem como a anulação do aumento exorbitante do preço da alteração de nome e género no âmbito do recente aumento dos actos notariais;
- A inclusão da “Identidade de Género”, como motivo pelo qual ninguém pode ser discriminado, no artigo 13º da Constituição da República;
- Medidas de educação e protecção contra a Transfobia;
- Garantia de acesso ao mundo laboral e adopção de políticas específicas para acabar com a marginalização e a discriminação das pessoas trans;
- Condições de saúde e de segurança no desenvolvimento do trabalho sexual, a que muitas pessoas trans são forçadas a recorrer em consequência da sua sistemática exclusão social e laboral, e o fim do assédio policial a estas pessoas, bem como do tráfico sexual;
- Concessão imediata de asilo político às pessoas trans imigradas que chegam ao nosso país fugindo de situações de discriminação e violência em função da sua identidade de género.

Most notably, Brazil, a country that has been receiving increasing attention for its unprecedented economic growth and investment in human development, has continuously slipped under the radar of international watchdogs in its failure to protect and defend the rights of LGBT citizens.
