In Public Authorities Transphobic Beliefs Prevail, Finds Fundamental Rights Agency’s Research

The report, which looks at the role of professionals in education, healthcare and law enforcement in the protection of LGBT persons’ fundamental rights clearly shows that there are still many transphobic beliefs and misconceptions which manifest themselves in negative attitudes across sectors.

Caitlyn Jenner Just Might Be The Anti-Hero The Transgender Community Needs
This week’s Season 2 premiere of Caitlyn Jenner’s I Am Cait was a reminder that she is still a reality television star. This season, she’s taking “her girls” — the group of transgender women recruited to be her squad for the show — on the road. Like a flashback to MTV’s Road Rules (made by the same production company, Bunim-Murray), the device is a reminder that not everybody has the opportunity to fly a helicopter over the Grand Canyon, and watching other people enjoy that privilege just because they can isn’t exactly inspiring.

#CivilRights Campaign by Mass AG for #TransRights with #EveryoneWelcome
Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey’s campaign #EveryoneWelcome is all about a #CiviRights bill allowing Transgender legal access to Public accommodations. This hashtag advocacy would have been unnecessary if a few Democrats had the fortitude to stand up for what was right. But the state adopted a limited #CiviRights bill in 2012 which was stripped of public accommodations protections in a move to appease those democratic lawmakers who unbelievably are opposed to equal rights for everyone.
