La FELGTB invita a las y los creyentes a sumarse contra la homofobia y la transfobia
Entre las actividades organizadas este año por la FELGTB, Federación Estatal de Lesbianas, Gays, Transexuales y Bisexuales, para conmemorar el 17 de Mayo, Día Mundial contra la Homofobia y la Transfobia, se encuentre una iniciativa internacional convocada por Gionata, asociación ecuménica LGTB de Italia. Se trata de la celebración de vigilias religiosas en memoria de todas las víctimas de homofobia y transfobia en todo el mundo, que se llevarán a cabo en cinco ciudades españolas entre los días 13 y 21 de mayo.

Nueva prohibición de una marcha del Orgullo en un país de Europa del Este. Las autoridades de Minsk, capital de Bielorrusia, han prohibido la celebración del “Orgullo Eslavo” que colectivos LGTB habían convocado el próximo sábado 15 por primera vez en la república ex-soviética. The bone of contention is Nadra’s demand that every transsexual applying for a Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) undergo a medical examination — a stipulation which the transexuals have referred to as discriminatory, and refused to accept.

Police: Man beat transgender girlfriend, led chase over 'pride'
Excerpt: The Alachua County Sheriff's Office on Monday released a 911 call in which a woman told a dispatcher she had been dating Eddy for several weeks and that he was aware she was a transgender individual. But when others found out, she said he "freaked out" about it.
"He started beating me up in front of everybody," the 33-year-old woman said.
Police reported Eddy adamantly denied he knew his girlfriend was transgender and planned to "create a show" so he could "reclaim his pride" with his family.

Drakar Druella was struggling with wrenching emotional problems last October when he walked into the Hawthorne Psychic Shop in southeast Portland for a palm reading and met Cathy Stevens.
Over the next seven weeks he would give the psychic $150,000 in cash and gifts so she could rid him of his “negative energy” and heal him. Druella says the 39-year-old woman was so convincing, he didn’t realize he was being scammed until he heard Stevens launch into the same story with another client.

Para lograr dar este paso, se llevo a cabo un trabajo continuo entre organizaciones que trabajan en el marco de derechos humanos y diversidad sexual de nuestro país y la Procuraduria de Derechos Humanos. Esta ultima instancia se mostro muy anuente en reconocer el 17 DE MAYO como Dia Internacional en Lucha contra la Homofobia, puesto que la comunidad LGBTTI a nivel nacional sufre constantes violaciones a sus derechos civiles.
