Suit Against Planet Fitness Dismissed
WNEM reports that the suit against a Midland Planet Fitness following a locker room controversy has been dismissed. The controversy over a transgender member using the female locker rooms stemmed from another member, Yvette Cormier, complaining; the Planet Fitness revoked her membership stating she violated their nondiscrimination policy. Cormier than filed a lawsuit in Midland County Circuit Court March 23, 2015 against the gym, saying their gender identity policy created a hostile environment for women and children. The story went viral in spring 2015.
