Givenchy’s Transgender Fall Campaign Model Posed Nude for French Vogue [NSFW]
Fall's Givenchy campaign was made all the more buzzworthy when designer Riccardo Tisci cast his transgender personal assistant, Lea T., to appear in the ads alongside nine other models. And of all ten faces, French Vogue chose to highlight her with a nude portrait that appears in next month's issue.
Prior to this shot breaking, Lea T. modeled in Givenchy's haute couture show this month and posed, privates covered, for last month's Italian Vanity Fair. (Photo)

Men of steel must change
Our constitution is unequivocal: prejudice will not be tolerated, writes Pierre de Vos
The Big Read: Multinational steel retailer Bohler Uddeholm Africa is probably going to regret that it employed Chris(tine) Ehlers. Hopefully the company will also begin to regret that its management is filled with people who act like bigots. Christine Ehlers, a sales assistant who was fired after her employers discovered that she had begun a series of sex change procedures in 2008, is taking her case to the Labour Court.
Christine is a transgendered person because she was born into the body of a man but realised that she was really a woman and is now altering her body to bring itin line with her deeply held view of her sexual status. She claims in court papers that she was fired "on the grounds of her sexual status".

Pakistan Hires Transgender Workers to Shame Tax Delinquents
In one of Karachi’s most posh neighborhoods, only half of the 500,000 residents paid their property, maintenance and water taxes last year.
As a result, the Clifton Cantonment board, like Pakistan itself, is in serious financial trouble.
As my colleague Sabrina Tavernise reports, nationwide, less than a million out of 170 million Pakistanis voluntarily filed income tax returns last year. The rate is among the lowest in the world.
In a bid for a solution — and some publicity — the Clifton board borrowed a creative idea that alleviated tax woes in neighboring India: It hired a team of transgender tax collectors to go door-to-door to embarrass the rich until they pay.

Suit claims widow of Wharton firefighter was born a man
The family of a Wharton firefighter who died battling a massive egg farm blaze is fighting to keep his widow from receiving death benefits, arguing that the 37-year-old had found out his bride of two years was born a man.
Thomas Araguz III separated from his wife after learning her history two months prior to being trapped in the fatal July 3 fire, according to attorney Chad Ellis, who is representing Araguz's parents in the lawsuit.

What Makes Robyn Deane A Woman “In Process”?
On Friday, the Washington Post profiled Robyn Deane—transgender woman, LGBT activist, and former in-law of Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell. It’s an interesting piece—with a couple of strange hang-ups.
First, the headline: “Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell’s former in-law speaks out for gay rights.” Deane certainly does speak out for gay rights, but it seems odd to emphasize that fact above her trans activism. Next, the photo gallery: It begins with a series of photos of Deane applying makeup, hair-spray, and pantyhose, as if to emphasize the fact that Deane’s beauty regimen (quite typical, for a woman) is somehow relevant to that activism.
