Facebook cross-dresser's relatives indicted for kidnapping him
Eight members of an Israeli family, upset about a male relative's cross-dressing photos he shared on Facebook, were indicted Thursday on charges tied to their kidnapping and punishment of the 19-year-old.
Among the charges, said The Jerusalem Post, were "contact (with the victim) in order to commit a crime, kidnapping with intent to imprison, kidnapping with intent to threaten, imprisonment, threats and attacks, all because of the man's sexuality and photographs he published online, in which he is wearing a bridal gown."
The crimes happened four times over the past four months, and were done to "defend the family's honor," the indictment states, according to the newspaper.

Changes needed to give equal opportunity to transgender community
WA Equal Opportunity Commissioner Yvonne Henderson said changes to include Gender Identity as a ground under the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 are vital following the recent Court of Appeal decision.
The ground of Gender History under the state’s current equal opportunity laws requires a Gender Reassignment Certificate for a person to be able to lodge a complaint of discrimination.
However, the Court of Appeal decision clarified that transgender people may have to undergo genital reconstruction before they can obtain the required certificate.

Australian court rules transsexuals are not men but women
An Australian court ruled on Thursday during an appeal on gender legislation that transsexual men are in fact women.
The landmark appeal was won by Attorney General Christian Porter. As a result two female-to-male transsexuals will be stripped of the right to be legally recognized as men, the West Australian daily newspaper reported.
The physical characteristics were the main reason to the decision. Supreme Court Chief Justice Wayne Martin and Justice Christopher Pullin said that the internal and external genitalia of both transsexuals will identify them as member of the male or female gender.
