AIDS initiative takes root at transgender festival
At a small temple in rural Tamil Nadu where a transgender festival is on in full swing, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has begun a major initiative for healthy sexual practices. At least 300,000 trans-genders, homosexuals and local villagers gathered here to take part in this annual two-day festival this week to worship local deity Koothandavar.

Could transsexual Alexis Arquette be faking a feud for tabloid attention? Patricia, David, and Rosanna's gender-bending sister Alexis (born as brother Robert) recently griped publicly that Us Weekly magazine editor Ian Drew was taking advantage of her friendship and her "celebrity" — just in time for the opening of her film, Alexis Arquette: She's My Brother, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York last week.
